Hotel Riu Melao

Location
The bungalow complex is situated within the Riu resort in Punta Cana, next to the Hotel Riu Taino. It is 35 kms from Punta Cana airport and 50 kms from the city of Higüey.

The hotel offers
The delightful entrance hall includes reception (credit cards accepted) which offers foreign currency exchange, and lobby-bar. The "La Proa" restaurant with no smoking area and the "Coco's" snack-bar are in the gardens next to the beach. In the "Caribbean Street" souvenir shop, boutique, medical centre, jeweller's, photographic shop, pizzeria (incl.), gymnasium, massage parlour, hairdresser's and the "Pacha" discothèque. The swimming pool, next to the beach, has a children's section and sunbathing terrace. Free loungers, sun umbrellas and towels at the pool and free loungers and towels available at the beach. At a fee, baby-sitting service, upon request, and laundry.

Rooms
244 in all. The standard rooms are in the two-storey bungalows; they are equipped with bath/wc, two beds, central air-conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, safe deposit box, mini-bar, liqueur dispenser and balcony or terrace. The larger rooms have 1 queen-size bed in the living room and two beds in a separate bedroom, ideal for families with children.

Sports
Included: table tennis, gym, sailing, wind-surfing, canoeing, trial scuba diving (in the pool), and 1 floodlit tennis court. At a fee, banana, fishing and scuba diving school (Cert. Padi + Naui). There is a golf course 12 kms away.

Entertainment
In the Hotel Riu Naiboa: daytime entertainment and night time shows for adults every day. Live music, several times a week. Furthermore, the Pacha discothèque is open every night. Entertainment for children of 4-14 years old several times a week, in the same hotel.

All Inclusive
Full board. Varied breakfast buffet with wholemeal products, on the spot cooking and/or continental breakfast/snack. At midday, hot and cold buffet, some main dishes prepared “live”. Dinner consists of a hot and cold buffet of first courses, main dishes of culinary specialities and desserts. Our chefs prepare some dishes in the restaurant, in front of the guests. Special theme buffet twice a week. All national alcoholic and soft drinks taken in the bars and restaurants of the hotel including those taken in the pizzeria, the entrance to the Riu Palace Macao Casino and the Pacha discothèque (excl. special nights), the entry to and the drinks taken in the anfitheatre Copacabana, as well as the restocking of the mini-bar, the safe, and the sports and entertainment opportunities described above, are included in the basic price.
